As an Online Communities Moderator, you will: Monitor and moderate online forums and social media channels to ensure safe, respectful, and supportive discussions. Review and approve user-generated content, manage moderation tools (rules engine, user holds), and escalate risks to the clinical team when needed. Respond to user queries across forums, email, and social media, resolving account or content issues in line with community guidelines. Provide timely engagement on Beyond Blue’s social media platforms, proactively identifying opportunities for posts and interactions. Share insights from community discussions with internal teams to inform campaigns, resources, and policy updates. Support volunteers and colleagues through training, guidance, and clear handover notes to ensure continuity of support. Desired Skills and Experience About you To be successful you will hold a: Tertiary qualification in marketing, health communications, psychology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Minimum of two years’ experience in social media or community management, with a strong community focus. Proven ability to identify, assess, and respond to risk in online environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage empathetically and calmly with diverse audiences, including during crises. Experience using digital dashboards, social media monitoring tools, and online collaboration platforms. Highly effective organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines. Understanding of community strategy, online reputation management, and engagement practices (desirable). Demonstrated learning agility and ability to quickly adapt to new concepts, processes, and technologies.
