Position Overview The Medical Administrator / Receptionist plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the practice. This is a high-volume role requiring a proactive, organised and patient-focused individual who can manage competing priorities, provide outstanding customer service, and support specialists and clinical staff. The role is essential to maintaining a welcoming front-of-house environment, efficient administrative processes, and accurate clinical documentation. Key Responsibilities Reception & Patient Services Monitor the waiting room to maintain an organised and calm environment, including guiding patients to amenities (eg; bathroom and water station). Update patients with the waiting time. Administration & Clinical Support Process outpatient private billing to Medicare, DVA, Workcover and TAC including receipting, invoicing and reconciliation. Practice Operations Facilitate urgent outpatient and inpatient appointments as directed by clinical staff, and assisting patients to achieve these outcomes. Skills & Experience Required Previous experience as a Specialist Medical Receptionist/Administrator is advantageous but not essential. Strong knowledge of medical terminology is preferred but not essential. Personal Attributes Warm, professional, and patient-centred approach. Calm under pressure and able to multitask effectively. Reliable, punctual, and committed to high performance. Strong problem-solving skills and initiative. Positive team-player with a supportive and proactive attitude. Compliance Requirements Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain). Valid Working Rights in Australia. Up-to-date immunisations in line with practice policy (if required).
