The Role and Responsibilities EnerMech is seeking an experienced and reliable Diesel Fitter to join our Gladstone-based workshop team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing diesel-powered equipment and heavy mechanical assets to ensure they are safe, compliant, and ready for mobilisation. You will also manage ordering the required parts and consumables to support maintenance and repair activities. Responsibilities Diagnose, service, repair and overhaul diesel engines, compressors, generators, pumps, hydraulic systems, and associated mechanical equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections (pre-mobilisation checks, function tests, routine servicing). Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs and asset documentation. Troubleshoot mechanical faults and complete repairs efficiently to minimise downtime. Identify, source and order required parts, components and consumables for maintenance and repairs. Assist with equipment mobilisation/demobilisation, workshop operations (loading/unloading), stock control, and general workshop housekeeping. Comply with all HSEQ, safety procedures, risk assessments, JSA/SWMS, and ensure safe work practices at all times. Liaise with supervisors, project coordinators and technicians to prioritise maintenance tasks and align equipment readiness with project schedules. Requirements Trade qualification: Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, or Mobile Plant Mechanic (or equivalent). Demonstrated experience working with diesel engines, heavy mechanical equipment — ideally in energy, mining, industrial services or heavy-equipment maintenance. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, ability to read/interpret OEM manuals, service-manuals and technical drawings. Competence with workshop tools, lifting gear, hydraulic systems, and general mechanical systems. Basic computer literacy (for maintenance records / CMMS). Current Driver’s Licence (C-class; HR/HC desirable) Forklift licence, Dogging/Rigging or EWP tickets are advantageous. Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screening. This is a full time role, based in our Henderson facility. Only locals to the area will be considered at this time.
