The key duties of the position include The Business, Communications and Publishing Services Group manages the AIHW's corporate functions that include, HR, facilities, finance, communications and engagement, web, publishing and data visitation and flagship reporting. The HR Services and Facilities Unit (HRSFU) is a newly established unit that provides internal client service and support for recruitment, payroll, security, reception, and facilities. We are a relatively small team with a fun, professional and collaborative culture. The HRSFU is looking for a motivated and talented individual to fill the role of APS4 Human Resources Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for providing end-to-end operational and administrative recruitment, onboarding and security support whilst also providing general HR support to AIHW employees. To be successful in this role, you will have APS recruitment knowledge and bring well developed organisational skills with the capability for keeping things on track. You will have effective communication and people skills, confident in connecting with others and building positive relationships. You will have an eagle eye for detail, a can-do and customer-focused attitude and enjoy helping others. You thrive in fast-moving, ever-changing environments, stay calm under pressure, and use sound judgement to manage competing priorities effectively. Under general direction, you will: Coordinate the recruitment process from start to finish, including posting job ads, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, coordinating reference checks, preparing offers, updating candidates on outcomes, and publishing outcomes on the APS Gazette. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to make recruitment activities run smoothly. Support managers and new starters through onboarding, including monitoring probation periods. Assist with recruitment and security queries, managing inboxes, digital service desk, and helpdesk requests promptly. Handle security clearances and checks, including police checks, AGSVA vetting, and related requests. Keep records and reports accurate and up to date, meeting compliance requirements. Provide clear, timely advice to staff and managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment conditions. Manage invoice payments and administration, ensuring accuracy and timely processing. Spot opportunities to improve systems and processes, share ideas with the team, and help implement enhancements. Stay on top of your workload, raising any concerns early with your team leader. Contribute to other tasks as needed to support the team's success.
