About The Role: We are on the search for an Aquatics Manager who is looking to elevate their career within a regional Shire in Newman, WA. In this role, you will supervise and coordinate daily operations at one of the Shire’s aquatic facilities, including Newman Leisure Centre, or the recently opened Nullagine or Marble Bar pools, based on your skills and experience. Key Responsibilities Support the Coordinator with daily operations at the Newman, Nullagine or Marble Bar pools. Supervise lifeguards, swim instructors, and other staff. Monitor and maintain water quality and plant room operations. Respond to emergencies, including first aid and water rescues. Ensure facilities meet public, safety, and OH&S standards. Work with Parks & Gardens on lawn and irrigation maintenance. Report and arrange urgent repairs and maintenance. Travel to, or support staff in, remote communities (4WD certification or willingness to obtain required). Assist with planning, promoting, and delivering community programs. Supervise events and ensure compliance with safety requirements. Complete administrative and financial tasks in line with Shire procedures. Support reporting on pool usage, memberships, and stock control. Communicate effectively to maintain teamwork and resolve issues. Maintain a safe work environment under OH&S legislation. Perform other duties as required. What You Will Need Current Pool Lifeguard Award HLTAID003 First Aid Certificate (or higher) WA Pool Plant Operator’s Certificate Working With Children Check (WA) LIWA Accreditation (or willingness to obtain) WA C Class Driver’s Licence Knowledge of WHS legislation Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to apply relevant aquatic and leisure legislation/standards Exceptional time management and organisational skills Ability to undertake or obtain a National Police Check (NPC) How to Apply Submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your suitability.
