Our client operates a progressive 3,500ha broadacre cropping enterprise near Dowerin in WA’s Wheatbelt. They are seeking an experienced and proactive Farmhand / Assistant Manager to join their small, motivated team in a long-term, hands-on operational role. This full-time position offers excellent variety across machinery operation, maintenance, and day-to-day farm management. Working closely with the owners, you’ll play a key part in seasonal programs and ongoing farm improvements, with responsibility increasing over time. About the role: Operate and maintain modern machinery for seeding, harvesting, spraying oversight, fertiliser spreading, and hay operations; Assist with fencing, water systems, general farm tidy work, and machinery maintenance; Oversee day-to-day tasks and support seasonal staff; Coordinate with hay contractors and contribute to seasonal program planning; Take responsibility and work independently when required; Off-season: Mon-Fri, approx. 8am-5pm; Peak times (harvest & seeding): Mon-Sat, 6/8am–9/10pm (some night shift during seeding). About you: Strong broadacre cropping experience (harvest & seeding essential); Mechanical aptitude and confident with machinery maintenance; Experience operating modern tractors, seeders, headers, sprayers and trucks; C Class licence required; HC preferred; Practical, tidy, safety-conscious, and capable of independent work; Good communicator with a can-do attitude; Enjoys contributing to a small, supportive team; Non-smoker.
