This leading independent school has an excellent reputation and is looking for a proactive facilities professional to join their team. The Head of Facilities is seeking someone who thinks ahead, uses their initiative and isn’t afraid to look for smarter ways of doing things. This role supports maintenance operations across the school’s properties and fleet, ensuring everything meets compliance standards while promoting a safe, comfortable environment for students and staff. Working closely with the internal team and wider school community, this person will champion compliance, maintain strong WHS practices, and ensure all requirements are fully implemented and documented. Key Responsibilities: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with accreditation standards and organisational procedures, maintaining accurate documentation for audits Oversee general and preventative maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion and proper recording in CMMS and WHS systems Manage maintenance budgets, procurement, and inventory, ensuring cost-effective use of resources Coordinate with contractors, staff, and stakeholders to address maintenance issues, support WHS compliance, and enhance service delivery Conduct risk assessments, implement corrective actions, and respond to emergencies to maintain a safe environment Analyse maintenance data, identify trends, and implement solutions to improve operational efficiency and service quality Lead and contribute to quality improvement initiatives, promoting best practices and consistency across maintenance operations Demonstrate strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage multiple tasks, projects, and stakeholder relationships effectively Skill and Experience: Previous experience working within facilities or property operations Experience using maintenance or facilities management systems (MyBuildings and Linksafe), and strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Current NSW Drivers Licence, and the ability to obtain Working with Children Check, and National Police Check Understanding of WHS obligations, contractor management, and compliance standards Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach and commitment to high standards Benefits: Free onsite parking available Conveniently located in Sydney’s CBD with excellent access to trains and buses Work within a dynamic and supportive team environment Daily morning tea provided at no cost Tidal Recruitment Partners have been engaged to recruit this role.
