Business: Forte Healthcare Pty Ltd Location : Armidale NSW Position : Full Time Salary : $70,000 - $80,000 pa Forte Healthcare is a leading Australian manufacturer of premium medical mattresses and pressure-care support surfaces, supplying hospitals, aged-care facilities and healthcare providers nationwide. We are currently seeking an experienced Upholsterer / Mattress Maker to join our manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role responsible for producing, assembling and upholstering medical mattress components to meet product specifications and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities: Measuring, cutting and preparing materials, fabrics, foams and components for medical mattresses Making and repairing internal frames, panels and pressure-care inserts as required Removing and replacing coverings, webbing and padding from mattress products Securing materials, padding, springs, trims and webbing to articles to be upholstered Sewing, seaming and joining sections of medical-grade fabric and covers Assembling mattress components, including layering foams and padding units according to product design Attaching zippers, trims, labels, braids or fastenings to complete finished products Ensuring all products meet quality, hygiene and safety standards required for healthcare environments Assisting with refinishing or cleaning fabric surfaces where required Working collaboratively with the production team to meet daily manufacturing targets About you: Relevant trade qualification or equivalent training. At least 1 year or more previous experience in upholstery, mattress making, furniture upholstery, or similar hands-on manufacturing. Ability to read measurements, follow production instructions and work with precision. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
