The ACT Director of Public Prosecutions is the independent prosecutions authority of and for the Australian Capital Territory and is seeking to fill vacancies at the Paralegal Grade two level. The successful applicant/s will provide administrative services and support to prosecutors and facilitate the business of prosecuting with external agencies. Paralegals perform a key role in ensuring the efficient delivery of information and legal services within the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP). Eligibility/Other requirements: Minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Legal Services is required to be obtained within 12 months from the date of appointment. An applicant who has obtained or who are currently enrolled in Law Degree or equivalent is exempt from the requirement to have a Certificate IV in Legal Services. Willingness to participate in staff rotation through various prosecuting teams. Understanding of the legal process would be an advantage. Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check. Notes: There are several permanent and temporary full-time positions available. A merit pool may be established to fill identical vacancies over the next 12 months. This position requires successful applicant/s to work in the office five days per week.
