Position : Chef/Cook Salary Range : $75,000- $85,000 Salary : $76,515 per annum 12% superannuation NFP Salary Packaging Type : Full Time New Horizons is looking for a Full Time Chef/Cook who’s more than just great in the kitchen - we want someone who brings energy, ideas, and a passion for creating memorable customer experiences. You’ll play a key role in helping build our brand, boost sales, and keep our café buzzing with fresh thinking and delicious food. This role isn’t about cooking and managing staff, it’s about being hands-on, proactive, and ready to jump into any café task with confidence. Responsibilities and Duties: Plan and prepare menus and ensure meals are cooked to a high standard Prep ingredients, cook dishes, and plate food with consistent quality Monitor cooking times, temperatures, and hygiene standards Maintain stock levels, check deliveries, and store food safely Keep the kitchen clean, organised and compliant with food safety rules Train and support junior kitchen staff when required Manage daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth service Adjust meals for special dietary needs and customer requests Maintain kitchen equipment and report issues Experience and Qualifications: Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) Minimum 3 years’ proven experience as a Cook or Chef Other Requirements: Ability to work weekends and on a rotating roster Strong teamwork skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment A positive, “can-do” attitude and cooperative behaviour Genuine passion for delivering high-quality food and service Pre -employment checks: NDIS Worker screening check (Or willingness to obtain) Working with children Check (Or willingness to obtain) Police Check (Issued within the last 3 months) Working Hours: Our café operates Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
