About the Role We are seeking a reliable and dedicated candidate to assist our healthcare client in Coober Pedy by filling a temporary Chef/Cook position. Applicants from metropolitan Adelaide or other regional areas of South Australia are encouraged to apply. You will be responsible for a range of cooking duties within a healthcare setting. On rare occasions, you may also be asked to assist with other basic operational tasks, such as cleaning. Roster: Full-time availability, Monday to Friday (38 hours per week). Duration: Initial period of 4 weeks, with the potential for extension. Start Date: 08/12/2025. Benefits: Accommodation is provided, and travel expenses are covered. Upon completion of this assignment, you will remain in our candidate pool for future opportunities across regional South Australia and metropolitan Adelaide. Mandatory Requirements: Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one). DHS Working with Children Check (South Australia). Proof of Right to Work in Australia (e.g., Australian passport, birth certificate, or foreign passport with a valid visa). Availability to commit to a 38-hour weekly roster (Mon-Fri) for a minimum of 4 weeks. Own vehicle and willingness to travel to Coober Pedy and other regional areas for minimum 4-week blocks. Certificate in Commercial Cookery (or related qualification). Hand Hygiene and Food Safety Preferred Skills and Experience: Previous experience in commercial cooking or Chef roles, preferably in an aged care or hospital setting. Sound knowledge of cleaning practices, HACCP, and food safety procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
