The role starts on the 8th December - 8th February on a full time, Monday to Friday basis. There is a possibility to go permanent after the contract finishes. You will be out on the road half the time and in the office the other half. You will not be required to work across parking or animal laws in this role. About the role Broadly speaking your duties will include but are not limited to: Apply Council’s Community Amenity Local Law, including education and enforcement relating to unsightly properties, abandoned vehicles, overhanging/obstructing vegetation, building site compliance, footpath trading, and all other Local Law matters. Undertake community education engagement to reduce illegal littering and take enforcement action against littering offences under the Environment Protection Act 2017. Efficiently and effectively respond to requests and complaints from members of the public, in accordance with standard policies and procedures (including Council’s Enforcement Policy). Undertake proactive education, patrols, and inspections throughout the municipality to improve city amenity and safety. About you In order to succeed in this role you will have prior experience within a similar role including: Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or equivalent qualification), or willingness to obtain. Previous experience in a Local Government compliance role is desirable. Demonstrated experience in a dynamic, customer-focused role. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and general IT proficiency.
