Your new role The Import Coordinator is responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following: Managing the full import cycle from booking, shipment tracking, and pre-alerts through to final delivery Coordinating with clients, overseas agents, customs brokers, and transport providers to ensure timely and compliant shipment handling Handling and processing all necessary documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs clearances Monitoring and tracking shipments, identifying potential issues, and taking proactive steps to resolve delays Entering and updating shipment data accurately in CargoWise. Keeping clients informed on the status of their shipments and providing timely updates Invoicing shipments to clients, ensuring accuracy and alignment with agreed terms and charges Collaborating closely with team members to ensure smooth handovers and operational consistency Ensuring full compliance with Australian customs and quarantine regulations Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in operational processes What you'll need to succeed At least 2 years of experience in freight forwarding and import logistics operations A strong understanding of coordinating shipments across various modes: air, sea, and road Experience using the CargoWise system (Essential) Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service, going above and beyond to achieve successful outcomes Confidence in liaising with clients, overseas agents, and local transport providers A professional and friendly phone manner Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and partners to solve problems and achieve shared goals Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail A positive, solutions-focused attitude and willingness to take initiative What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your resume, or call Thomas Hunter now at 0437 537 710.
