About the role We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chef to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of Indian dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and assisting in menu development. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, biryanis, and vegetarian specialties. Plan and develop new menu items that reflect authentic Indian flavours and customer preferences. Ensure all meals are prepared to a consistently high standard and presented professionally. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and comply with food safety and hygiene regulations. Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow. Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering ingredients and supplies. Ensure portion control, minimise wastage, and maintain cost efficiency. Work closely with management to coordinate daily kitchen operations. Skills/Qualifications required Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification. At least 2 years of relevant work experience as a Chef, preferably in an Indian cuisine restaurant. Strong knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple orders simultaneously. Excellent time management, teamwork, and communication skills. Commitment to maintaining high food quality and hygiene standards. Salary in range $75 - 85,000 super commensurate with experience.
