We are looking for a specific type of mid-level engineer (ideally 5-7 years of commercial experience) who thrives on working across both modern data platforms and core software development. You will join a dynamic, product-led fintech in their Sydney CBD office. Your initial focus will be on owning and enhancing their Azure data platform, leading a critical client data migration project using Azure Data Factory (ADF) . Over time, your role will evolve to a 50/50 split, where you will also contribute to building new features for their core global platform using your C# development skills . This is a permanent role for someone who wants to build a deep, versatile, and highly valuable skill set at the intersection of data and software engineering. What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like: Designing, building, and maintaining robust ETL/ELT pipelines in Azure Data Factory . Working hands-on with SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning to ensure a high-quality data platform. Collaborating with the Product Owner to design and build out a new "insight portal." Contributing to the core application by developing new features and enhancements using C# and the .NET framework . Working in a highly collaborative, Agile environment where you contribute to design, coding, and strategy. Who We Are Looking For: The Essential Skills To be successful, you must have a demonstrated background in both of the following areas. 1. Data Engineering: Recent, hands-on commercial experience building and managing data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SQL . 2. Software Development: Demonstrated commercial experience in C#/.NET software development . This means you have built, deployed, and maintained applications or services, not just scripting or academic projects. Additionally, you'll bring: A product-focused mindset with a passion for building high-quality solutions. Strong experience with cloud environments, particularly Azure. Excellent collaboration skills and a "roll up your sleeves" attitude. Experience with Python is highly regarded.
