Location: Villawood NSW Pay Rate: $45-$50 per hour (depending on experience) Hours: Monday-Friday, 6am - 2pm (Overtime available on Saturday on needs basis) Our client, a reputable food manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter / Grain Popper Line Setter to join their Maintenance & Engineering team in Villawood. This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient operation of GP (Grain Popper) machinery within a fast-paced FMCG environment. About the Role You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and setting up production machinery to ensure safe and consistent operations. Working closely with the Supervisor/Manager, you'll support production changeovers, perform preventative maintenance, and resolve equipment issues to minimise downtime. Key Responsibilities Perform maintenance tasks safely and within skill level Reduce equipment downtime and maintain efficient production output Support changeovers and machinery cleaning Conduct preventative maintenance, safety checks, and hazard reporting Complete mechanical repairs and maintain accurate maintenance documentation Perform daily equipment checks and maintain safety standards Assist with spare parts management and GP head assembly/disassembly Follow all policies, QA guidelines, GMP and troubleshooting processes Flexibility to work weekends or shutdowns when required General housekeeping and other duties as assigned Skills & Experience Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (pneumatics/industrial controls desirable) Strong mechanical aptitude and tools experience Previous maintenance experience in FMCG or food manufacturing (highly desirable) Knowledge of food processing machinery and production systems Strong troubleshooting ability, particularly with pneumatics Familiarity with PC and maintenance software Excellent communication and teamwork skills Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Why You'll Love This Role ✔ Excellent hourly rate: $45-$50 per hour ✔ Work with a well-established food manufacturing leader ✔ Supportive and safety-focused team environment ✔ Long-term opportunity with potential for growth If you're an experienced Maintenance Fitter ready for a stable and rewarding role in a growing FMCG environment, apply now!
