We are looking to employ a full time qualified and experienced Chef at our busy restaurant. Position Overview The Chef is responsible for planning, preparing, and executing authentic Indian cuisine that reflects traditional flavours and contemporary culinary techniques. This role involves crafting high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen hygiene, managing food inventory, and ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and service standards. Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and present authentic Indian dishes with high attention to quality. Develop and cost the menu, ensuring efficient kitchen operations and minimal waste. Train and lead kitchen staff, maintaining hygiene and safety standards. Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of ingredients Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with management on seasonal specials and menu evolution. Maintain cleanliness and compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations. Supervise junior kitchen staff, cooks, and assistants as needed. Communicate effectively with service staff to ensure smooth kitchen-to-table delivery. Requirements: Minimum 3 years' experience as a Chef specialising in Indian cuisine. Relevant commercial cookery qualifications Certificate IV and Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent. Ability to operate tandoor ovens, grills, and traditional cooking equipment Strong understanding of traditional Indian spices, flavours, plating, and presentation. Ability to manage a busy kitchen and maintain consistency under pressure. Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
