About the Team Domain Awareness and Signals Intelligence Support (DASS): The Domain Awareness and SIGINT Support Section (DASS) , a 24/7 operations area responsible for delivering domain awareness, indications, warnings and in depth analysis on key areas of interest in support of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and allied operations. The team has rapidly transformed over the past three years, modernising its mission and tools, upskilling staff and introduced certifications for key positions. This ensures that we work at the scale and speed required by our customers while ensuring the intelligence we produce is of the highest standard. We will continue this momentum over the next 12-24 months, delivering key capabilities, professionalising our training, and planning our continued growth. DASS sits within ASD's Military Expeditionary Branch (MX), a multi-disciplinary, integrated workforce that conducts in-depth technical analysis of complex foreign communication systems. About the Role DASS is one of the largest sections within ASD and we are looking to fill a range of signals intelligence analyst positions as part of our 24/7 Watch. Our section is dynamic and fast paced and we are looking for analysts who are self-motivated, committed to their ongoing professional development and passionate about our mission. DASS is seeking motivated, intrigued individuals to fill a wide range of ASD Signals Intelligence Analyst positions including Duty Watch Officer and Shift Lead positions in our Canberra office. These are dynamic roles, working in an operational team alongside a diverse team of ADF and ASD members, supporting ASD to deliver its Domain Awareness mission. An ASD 4 Signals Intelligence Analyst produces moderately complex research, analysis, and operational tasks, to support the collection and dissemination of signals intelligence. You will be expected to understand technical concepts, provide technical advice, and interpret data to provide timely and accurate intelligence advice. Key duties include: Produce signals intelligence, whilst complying with legislative, policy and security frameworks. Record and maintains accurate files and records within information repositories in relation to business decisions and intelligence functions. Utilise a variety of information communication technology systems including data entry and query functions in order to produce signals intelligence. Operate signals intelligence related systems to maintain capabilities to achieve business outcomes. Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities. Understand stakeholder needs and expectations to meet business requirements and provides appropriate advice. Investigate, research, and analyse moderately complex information and collected data to assist in the production of signals intelligence tailored to customer requirements. Utilise a number of bespoke analytic tool suites to reverse engineer and/or interpret foreign military signals and capabilities. Evaluate collected data and information to develop further collection, processing and analysis to support future mission outcomes. An ASD 5 Signals Intelligence Analyst interprets and provides advice within the intelligence function based on legislation, policy and procedures. You will undertake specialist research and analysis. You will conduct reviews, assessments, and investigations, and carry out procedural and clerical support work. A demonstrated experience in analysing multiple sources of data, drawing accurate conclusions to produce intelligence reporting, enable data processing or generating additional analytical leads. Key duties include: Record and maintain accurate files and records within information systems in relation to business decisions and intelligence functions. Accountable to produce signals intelligence, whilst complying with legislative, policy and security frameworks. Utilise and apply a variety of information communication technology systems including data entry and query functions in order to produce signals intelligence. Operate and apply signals intelligence related systems to maintain capabilities to achieve business outcomes. Understand stakeholder needs and expectations to meet business requirements and provide appropriate advice. Build and sustain effective relationships within and across teams, and actively participate in team work and group activities. Investigate and interpret through the research, analysis and translation of collected data and information to produce signals intelligence tailored to customer requirements. Utilise a number of bespoke analytic tool suites to reverse engineer and/or interpret foreign military signals and capabilities. Evaluate and interpret collected data and information to develop further collection, processing and analysis to support future mission outcomes. Instruct, train and develop signals intelligence analysts and provide guidance to less experienced staff. An ASD 6 Signals Intelligence Analyst conducts complex research, analysis and operational tasks to support the collection and dissemination of signals intelligence, and provide technical advice across the analytic community within their organisation. You will have experience in conducting analysis to enable operational outcomes, or further capability development and delivery. You have experience in training and mentoring junior analysts and leading analytical efforts. Key duties include: Accountable to produce signals intelligence whilst complying with legislative, policy and security frameworks. Manage and maintain accurate files and records within information repositories in relation to business decisions and intelligence functions. Develop and utilise information communication technology capabilities in order to manage the production of signals intelligence. Is innovative in the development of business process for the production of signals intelligence. Build, sustain and promote effective relationships within and across teams. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to meet their requirements, manage expectations and provide general signals intelligence advice. Utilise a number of bespoke analytic tool suites to reverse engineer and/or interpret foreign military signals and capabilities. Prioritise the research, analysis and translation of collected data and information to produce signals intelligence tailored to customer requirements. Prioritise collected data and information to develop further collection, processing and analysis to support future mission outcomes.
