Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a motivated Casual Trainee Technician to join their team in Townsville. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to build a long-term career in a hands-on, fast-paced industry. About the Role As a Trainee Restoration Technician , you’ll work alongside experienced and accredited professionals, assisting with a variety of property restoration projects. This is a minimum 35-hour-per-week role , offering structured on-the-job training , the opportunity to complete IICRC certification , and the potential to transition into a full-time position for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities: Assist with restoration works including water extraction, structural drying, cleaning, and mould remediation Support with light demolition tasks such as removing plasterboard, skirting, vinyl, carpet, and underlay Help with contents inventory, packing, and relocation Learn to operate industry-specific equipment and moisture detection tools Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, builders, and insurers Record project progress, including photos and job notes , using mobile or tablet apps What’s on Offer Casual employment with at least 35 hours per week and the opportunity for full-time progression Structured training and mentoring with experienced restoration professionals Opportunity to complete nationally recognised IICRC certification Supportive, down-to-earth team culture Career progression to Technician and Senior Technician roles The chance to make a real difference helping people recover from property damage events What We’re Looking For Reliable, motivated, and willing to learn – no prior experience required Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work Demonstrates initiative and problem-solving skills Professional communication and presentation Works well both independently and in a team environment Current Driver’s Licence (manual preferred) Construction White Card – desirable but not essential Important Please note that we are unable to process applications from candidates seeking sponsorship or those on a Working Holiday Visa .
