Position: CAD Manager, (Joinery) Location: Kingsgrove, NSW Employment Type: Full‑Time, Permanent Package: $100,000 - $130,000 Superannuation Role Summary We are recruiting a highly skilled and motivated CAD Manager to lead and manage a remote CAD team (including overseas drafters) for a premium joinery and architectural fit-out business. This role requires a strong background in joinery, excellent command of Pytha 3D CAD, and the ability to bridge design, manufacturing, and installation teams. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and manage a global CAD drafting team. Allocate and review tasks to ensure quality, efficiency, and accuracy. Develop and maintain CAD standards, drawing templates, and best practices. Technical Design & Documentation Interpret architectural, interior design, and client drawings. Produce detailed shop drawings using Pytha 3D CAD. Generate material schedules, cut lists, hardware specifications, and assembly documentation. Liaise with production and installation teams to ensure CAD is production- and install‑ready. Quality Assurance Review and check CAD deliverables for accuracy, detailing, and manufacturability. Work closely with manufacturing (especially CNC team) to optimize nesting, tool-paths, and fabrication workflows. Implement quality control processes to reduce design-to-production errors. Process Improvement Identify opportunities to streamline and automate CAD workflows (templates, macros, scripts). Stay up to date with software (Pytha) updates, joinery & manufacturing tech, and propose innovations. Lead initiatives to reduce drawing turnaround times, mistakes, and rework. Stakeholder Engagement Act as the technical point of contact for designers, architects, and clients regarding joinery detail. Facilitate drawing review, sign-off, and design iteration meetings. Provide regular reports on CAD team performance, project status, and technical risks to senior management. Required Skills & Experience CAD & Technical Expert proficiency in Pytha 3D CAD (essential). Strong understanding of joinery construction, materials, and hardware. Experience with CNC manufacturing processes (routing, nesting, panel optimisation) desirable. Trade / Joinery Background Practical experience in cabinet making, shopfitting, or joinery manufacturing. Understanding of workshop processes, installation constraints, and on-site realities. Leadership Proven experience managing a CAD or design team (preferably distributed/offshore). Ability to mentor and guide junior drafters, set workflows, and maintain high standards. Communication Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Client- and stakeholder-facing ability: clear, technical communication.
