This is a Senior Manager, Information and Data Governance role with Reserve Bank of Australia based in Sydney, NSW, AU Reserve Bank of Australia Role Seniority - senior More about the Senior Manager, Information and Data Governance role at Reserve Bank of Australia Hybrid work environment - 50% Office/Home 5-year Fixed Term Contract Play an important part shaping the future of our iconic Australian institution About the business/role/team As Senior Manager, Information and Data Governance , you will report to the Deputy Head of Knowledge Management and lead a team of specialists across Information and Data Governance, Compliance and Architecture teams, where you will work closely with senior leaders in Risk, Technology, and Business Units to embed governance principles and enable data-driven decision-making. This team sits within the Bank’s Knowledge Management Department, which is central to enterprise information strategy and compliance. About the role Manage enterprise Information, Data, and AI governance frameworks, aligned with Commonwealth legislative requirements and Bank policy. Manage the Bank’s information classification framework, ensuring sensitive information is appropriately classified, handled, and protected, and maintain alignment with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), and internal security standards. Ensure compliance with recordkeeping obligations, including the Archives Act and relevant standards for digital and physical records. Ensure that data models, standards, and platforms align with governance, security, and compliance requirements. Partner with technology and business leaders to ensure governance supports innovation, analytics, and AI adoption while mitigating risk. Champion cultural change by promoting information and data stewardship, security awareness, and information integrity across the organisation. About you Deep expertise in information and data governance, including regulatory compliance, risk management, and emerging AI governance practices. Strong knowledge of Commonwealth information security and recordkeeping frameworks, including PSPF, ISM, and Archives Act requirements. Proven leadership experience in complex organisations, ideally in financial services or government. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and drive enterprise-wide adoption of governance principles. Familiarity with data platforms, metadata management, records management and governance technologies.
