About the work unit / facility Building, Engineering and Maintenance Services (BEMS) provides planning, construction, operation and maintenance of all district physical facilities, engineering systems, plant and equipment to meet strategic objectives within a quality environment. BEMS currently consist of professional, operational, administrative and trade staff. The trade teams include electrical, electronics, fitting, plumbing, carpentry and painting. These responsibilities are exercised through the management of in-house labour and the management and supervision of day labour and/or contractors where necessary to supplement in-house labour. The Trades Assistant (Rural) will assist the trade teams in the provision of preventative and corrective maintenance services as directed by the Trade coordinator and trade staff to support the Charter Towers HHS facilitation of safe, effective and sustainable healthcare services. Requirements: Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate. Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate. This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
