We’re partnering with a growing professional services firm in the Melbourne CBD that’s seeking a capable Financial Accountant to join their finance team on an initial three-month contract, with strong potential to transition to permanent. This role is ideal for someone with solid fundamentals who’s keen to step into a fast-moving, high-visibility environment. The Role As part of a tight-knit finance team, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the firm’s ongoing compliance and performance. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing monthly financial statements in line with Australian accounting standards (AASB) Managing month-end and year-end close processes Preparing monthly billing and claims for internal and external stakeholders Assisting with statutory reporting and audit requirements Monitoring, maintaining and improving internal controls and financial procedures Preparing financial and management reports Supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles About You You’ll bring a combination of technical ability and initiative, along with a willingness to pitch in wherever needed.
