Cobram Estate Olives (CBO) is searching for a Mechanic, Fitter or Boilermaker to join our maintenance team at our Boort Grove. The role will work closely with fellow team members in preventative and emergency maintenance of a large variety of horticultural equipment such as our distinctive Colossus Olive Harvesters and including a fleet of utes, mules, tractors and various implements. The Company Cobram Estate Olives is Australia’s largest producer and marketer of premium quality extra virgin olive oil. We own over 2.4 million olive trees planted on 6,584 hectares of farmland in central and north-west Victoria, together with Australia’s largest olive tree nursery, two olive mills, an olive oil bottling, storage, and the Modern Olives laboratory. The Role This is a full time, ongoing role, responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following activities: Diagnosis, Repairs & Maintenance of our operational farm equipment, such as our fleet of Olive Harvesters Colossus XL, tractors, Mules, utes, slashers, sprayers, mechanical skirting machines, harvest trailers and various other machinery. Ensure pre harvest maintenance is completed ahead of time. Attend breakdowns on the grove and conduct emergency repairs during harvest. Skills & Experience The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and willingness to perform a variety of duties, coupled with the following experience and attributes: Australian recognised trade completion certificate desirable but not essential (various trades accepted). Experience working on various farming, harvesting and/or earthmoving equipment, in engineering and maintenance, mining operations, trades & services, and/or construction Good attention to detail, organisational skills and skills in prioritising work and meeting deadlines A self-starter with the ability to take initiative, work efficiently and without supervision as well as within the team.
