About the Opportunity: As a Float Senior Paralegal in Melbourne, you’ll play a key role in supporting our TAC and WorkCover teams. You’ll step in where needed, helping files run smoothly, supporting our clients, and assisting our solicitors with day-to-day tasks. This is a varied and engaging role, perfect for a senior legal assistant who enjoys working across different teams and contributing to the success of both clients and colleagues. We’re looking for an organised and proactive senior legal assistant with experience in TAC and WorkCover matters. You’ll be comfortable juggling multiple priorities, communicating clearly with clients and colleagues, and providing reliable support to ensure matters progress efficiently. Above all, this role is about helping our teams and clients feel supported and cared for. This role offers a high degree of flexibility. Key responsibilities include: Supporting multiple solicitors across teams, taking ownership of files during periods of leave or high workload, ensuring continuity and momentum on matters. Preparing matters for conferences, hearings, mediations, and other key milestones, including drafting court documents, claim forms, schedules of damages, and correspondence. Coordinating medico-legal appointments, compulsory conferences, and mediations efficiently, keeping all stakeholders informed and aligned. Drafting briefs, summaries, and other legal documentation with high attention to detail. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, solicitors, Counsel, and other external stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact when required. Utilising internal systems, including MatterSphere, to manage files effectively, track deadlines, and optimise workflows across teams. Working collaboratively with solicitors, paralegals, and administrative staff while operating independently to ensure matters progress efficiently. What you’ll bring Experience in personal injury law or exposure to TAC and/or WorkCover matters within a legal firm A genuine interest in plaintiff personal injury matters Confidence in working independently while also collaborating closely with your team Accurate typing skills and intermediate proficiency in Word and Excel Strong attention to detail when preparing and managing documents Strong communication skills, both written and verbal A client-focused approach, understanding the importance of your role in supporting both clients and our legal teams Shine Lawyers: A place for you.
