We are seeking a Structural Engineer with experience in bridge, culvert, retaining wall, and ageing infrastructure design and inspections. You will work across the full project lifecycle—from site assessment to design and delivery—producing practical, cost-effective solutions in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry. The role can be based in Brisbane or Melbourne. Key Responsibilities Plan and complete fieldwork, including SWMS preparation and coordination of subcontractors Conduct structural inspections and assess bridges and related assets Interpret historical drawings, geotechnical data, and hydraulic reports Undertake structural analysis and load rating to Australian Standards (AS 5100, AS/NZS 1170) Contribute to tenders, project scoping, and constructability reviews Develop strengthening, remediation, and replacement designs Coordinate with survey teams, drafters, and construction staff Review drawings and ensure quality, compliance, and design clarity Communicate effectively with technical leads, clients, and project managers Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering 3 years’ experience in structural design, inspections, and assessments Strong knowledge of bridge design and relevant Australian Standards Experience with aged structures and remedial design solutions Confident interpreting survey, geotechnical, and hydraulic data Strong communication and ability to support junior staff Driver’s licence required; rail accreditations desirable CPEng/RPEQ or working towards (desirable) About the Organisation A long-standing provider of engineering, asset management, project delivery, and consulting services across the Australian transport sector.
