HumeLink West Project Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project. HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure. The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0. The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Project Manager - Substations to join the team. Please note this is a site delivery role requiring DIDO/FIFO or relocation where additional allowances will apply. What will a day in this role look like: • Planning, executing and finalising projects for delivery to our clients. • Managing the project teams to accurately and timely deliver projects according to schedule, budget and scope. • Overseeing the quality control throughout the project life cycle and ensuring we meet the projects objectives and deliverables • Focusing on acquiring resources and coordinating efforts of team members, ensuring that our clients’ needs are delivered in a safe, timely and efficient manner whilst ensuring a safe and effective operation of the project through sound communication, promotion of Safety and Quality Assurance, technical assistance and sound business practices such as commercial, compliance, procurement, human resources and financials. What are we looking for you to bring to the team: • You will have extensive Project Management experience working within the utilities infrastructure sectors focussing on power with a focus on High-Voltage substation projects • You will hold relevant project management accreditation equivalent to Australian Institute Project Management (AIPM), PMBOK, Diploma, PMP or equivalent. • You will have a strong understanding and knowledge of construction principles in multi-discipline contracting environment. • You will have a high level of business and commercial acumen backed by a sound ability to create, read, and interpret budgets, financial statements and analyse variance reports.
