DRA covers all major mining centres with offices across Africa and the Middle East, North and South America, and Asia-Pacific About the role Commercial Manager Reporting functionally to the Senior Vice President - APAC - Strategy & Growth you will be a member of the Origination / Pre-Contracts team and be responsible for leading the commercial, contractual, and legal aspects for engineering and execution projects. You will also ensure commercial and legal governance, contract negotiations, risk management, and contractual compliance across the Opportunity to Contract business workflow while supporting project managers, engineering leads, procurement, and executive stakeholders. You will combine strong commercial acumen with legal expertise to safeguard the organisation’s interests and optimise project outcomes. The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis and whilst the role is located in Perth you will be supporting the APAC region. Please only apply if you meet the criteria listed. Brief duties Draft, review, negotiate, and administer commercial agreements Provide commercial / legal input into tender submissions, proposals, and bid governance Ensure that all reviews are undertaken within the framework of DRA’s Contracting Manual, Special Risks Guidelines and the Delegation of Authority Framework Provide in-house legal advice on contractual rights, obligations, liabilities, and risk exposures Identify, analyse, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks across project scopes Develop and review risk registers, insurances, indemnities, and warranties Advise project leadership on risk exposure and recommended mitigation strategies Build strong relationships with clients, JV partners, contractors, and suppliers Support project managers with commercial advice and client negotiations Represent the company in meetings, negotiations, and contract reviews Mentor project teams on commercial and contractual best practices Support continuous improvement of commercial processes, templates, and policies Contribute to strategic commercial planning across the business. Support commercial strategy, governance, and oversight for Engineering & Execution (EP / EPCM) projects from initiation to close-out Support dispute avoidance and resolution, including claims preparation, defence, and negotiation Criteria Bachelor of Laws - Essential Legal practising certificate - Advantageous 10 years’ commercial/contract management experience in EPCM, engineering, resources, or major projects Strong understanding of mining projects contract structures, contract law, procurement, and commercial frameworks Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts.
