Our client, a progressive council in Melbourne's north-eastern suburbs, is embarking on a major digital transformation that's reshaping how technology, people, and processes come together to deliver better outcomes for the community. As the Business Analyst Lead , you'll play a key role in driving this transformation. You';ll do this by working closely with business and technology stakeholders to reimagine systems, streamline processes, and enable meaningful change across the organisation. This is a short-term contract until early February 2026, with an immediate start. There may be a possibility of extension. What you'll do Partner with business stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities and define solutions that deliver measurable benefits. Question existing practices, systems, and processes, recommending changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Lead the mapping, analysis, and optimisation of business processes to align with strategic objectives. Develop and embed standards, policies, and methodologies to enhance the business analysis function. Conduct workshops, meetings, and presentations to share insights and gain alignment across cross-functional teams. Communicate recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and implementation partners. Support system rollouts, including configuration, data uploads, testing, and user acceptance activities. Participate in reviewing and documenting IT policies and procedures related to system development. Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainable business practices. About You You're a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in business analysis and process transformation. You bring a structured yet adaptable approach and thrive in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. You'll also bring: Strong expertise in Business Analysis and Business Process Re-engineering. Experience in enterprise-scale digital transformation and working with Enterprise Architecture frameworks (beneficial). Ability to translate complex technical information into clear business language. Solid understanding of IT system development principles, databases, and tools such as Microsoft Office, Access, Windows OS, and web-based development technologies. A collaborative and self-motivated mindset with the ability to inspire and guide others through change. Knowledge of local government systems is highly desirable. Why Join?
