Your Tasks We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our finance team and play an integral role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing month-end journals, reconciliations, and statutory reports, as well as supporting manufacturing sites with financial compliance and cost analysis. You’ll work across multiple entities, ensuring data accuracy, supporting audits, and assisting with ongoing system and process improvements. Finance Review Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and Purchase Orders (POs) for accuracy. Prepare month-end journal entries and assist with close processes. Ensure TIP reporting is completed by the relevant monthly deadline. Review transaction journals for data accuracy and completeness. Assist in balancing intercompany recharges. Conduct on-site audits to ensure compliance with company internal controls, policies, and procedures. Reconcile travel files and prepare Right of Use (ROU) schedules. Complete intercompany reconciliations. Review and investigate cost variances against expected costings. Support external auditors during the year-end audit process. Prepare and maintain General Ledger (GL) reconciliations. Accounts Receivable Process customer payments promptly and accurately. Maintain the daily cash book and complete bank reconciliations. Fixed Assets Oversee and maintain plant asset registers. Conduct site audits to verify physical assets. Monitor and report on critical spare parts. Assist with asset register maintenance and reconciliations. Reporting Prepare and submit ABS reporting. Prepare, reconcile, and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS). Prepare and lodge PTRS reports. Compile and submit monthly COGNOS reporting. Other Vossloh Entities Process supplier invoices and perform cash receipting and bank reconciliations. Complete intercompany reconciliations. Prepare and reconcile BAS for related entities. Prepare GL reconciliations and investigate variances. Complete month-end reporting to Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet level. Submit monthly COGNOS reporting. Systems and Compliance Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) when requested. Maintain up-to-date documentation of company administration and finance procedures. Provide on-site training to new administration staff on company financial policies and procedures. Other Duties Assist with preparation of R&D reporting. Perform other ad hoc tasks as required to support the finance function. Experience performing a variety of finance functions within a small or medium-sized team. Mature-minded and adaptable to change. Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Strong understanding of inventory and stock control processes. Analytical ability to interpret financial and stock data. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with Syspro and/or MYOB (desirable).
