Our Client is currently looking for a Qualified / Experienced Sheetmetal Worker who is dedicated to his craft. Position Summary: You will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal ductwork and related components for HVAC systems according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications. This includes cutting, bending, and forming sheet metal materials, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Fabrication: Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal (usually galvanized steel, aluminum, or stainless steel) to specified dimensions using hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as shears, brakes, and rollers. Assemble duct sections, fittings, and accessories using appropriate joining methods (e.g., spot welding, riveting, screwing, or sealing). Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders to determine material requirements and fabrication details. Operate plasma cutters, notching machines, and other specialized equipment as required. Installation (if applicable): Install fabricated ductwork on-site, including hangers, supports, and insulation as required. Ensure proper alignment, sealing, and fitment of ducts and components. Coordinate with HVAC technicians, fitters, and other trades during installation. Quality & Safety: Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications. Follow company safety procedures, use appropriate PPE, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Report material shortages, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor. Maintenance & Documentation: Maintain tools and machinery in good working order. Record job details, material usage, and time logs as required. Qualifications & Skills: Trade qualification or apprenticeship in Sheet Metal Work (preferred). Experience in HVAC duct fabrication and installation. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Competency with fabrication machinery (guillotines, press brakes, lockformers, etc.). Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good physical fitness and manual dexterity. Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
