Aboriginality is a genuine qualification authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination ACT 1977 ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Indigeco is seeking a proactive Community Engagement Coordinator on behalf of our client. This role plays a key part in strengthening community partnerships, supporting First Nations engagement, and contributing to meaningful, long-term social impact initiatives. Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, you will support the development and delivery of community engagement programs, lead First Nations engagement activities, and help drive the organisation’s reconciliation commitments. This organisation is focused on improving customer experience, enhancing social impact and building strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The business operates across multiple metropolitan and regional locations and is committed to inclusion, cultural safety and reconciliation. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Support the development and delivery of community engagement strategies and First Nations initiatives. Build the organisation’s capacity to meaningfully engage with Aboriginal communities, partners and stakeholders. Lead coordination of Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) activities and relationships with Aboriginal organisations. Support programs, partnerships and events that drive social impact and community connection. Assist in coordinating engagement activities that improve brand presence, culture and community relationships. Work closely with internal teams to communicate engagement initiatives to stakeholders. Organise and participate in significant cultural events including NAIDOC Week and National Reconciliation Week. YOUR REQUIREMENTS You identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Experience in community engagement, stakeholder relationships, or First Nations portfolio work. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal cultures, histories and contemporary issues, ideally in Victoria. Ability to work 4 days per week in the Truganina office.
