The Utilityperson - Electrical is responsible for all aspects of the major works throughout the country on Caterpillar, Jenbacher Gas & Diesel engines located at various sites around Australia. Key Areas of Responsibility Working on Caterpillar, Jenbacher gas engines. Operations coverage. Assessing parts for reuse and reconditioning engines and other equipment. Supervising apprentices in training and teaching correct work practices. Testing engines on completion of overhaul; Module maintenance and repairs. Involved in removal and installation of engines onsite General housekeeping responsibilities; Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations; Support and comply with Company Policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company’s employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors; and Any other duties appropriate to the level and responsibility of the position as required. Maintain the safety culture to a high standard. Mentoring / training apprentices. Travel to sites around Australia to undergo breakdown activities. Supporting operation in GEMs and shutdowns. Qualifications and Experience Trade certificate in a Fitting/Plant Electrical trade essential Experience in diesel/gas engine repair/reconditioning highly desirable Experience in Caterpillar, Jenbacher, or any large capacity engines highly desirable Basic computer skills are desirable.
