It develops a mix of discipline knowledge, academic English and study skills in a supportive, flexible and learner-centred environment. It aims to assist students to become independent, critical and lifelong learners and to maximise their potential for success in an Australian university context. About the role In this position, you will be responsible for the teaching delivery of RMIT UP’s Foundation Studies Economics course. Duties include assessment, monitoring academic progress of students, contributing to the development of the Foundation Studies curriculum and providing an outstanding student experience. This course is designed to introduce Foundation Program students to Economics and the fundamentals of a market economy. This course covers the inter relationship between real world situations and the application of economic theory, through an investigation of current economic conditions and how government policies may achieve the macroeconomic goals of the economy. Demonstrated skills and experience in delivering and assessing Foundation Studies or equivalent courses Capacity to identify learning problems in students, propose and implement effective strategies Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team Demonstrated skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies Desirable Experience teaching in a Foundation Studies or a year 12 equivalent program educating international students; Experience teaching in a tertiary setting. TESOL (English Language Teaching Qualification) for teacher s responsible for non-English subject areas.
