The Manager – Child and Youth Mental Health position is responsible for the clinical, operational and strategic direction of WMQ Child and Youth Mental Health Services, including headspace centres in Capalaba, Hervey Bay and Maryborough. The role’s key accountabilities are: Provide operational oversight and leadership to the coordination and delivery of family-inclusive, evidence-informed services to young people at WMQ’s headspace centres. This includes leading the development and ongoing review of clinical governance systems, client data capture, practice documentation and clinical processes to align with best industry practice and the headspace Model Integrity Framework ( hMIF ) in order to meet contract deliverables within budget In partnership with the Clinical Centre Managers and Senior Mental Health Clinicians, ensure the ongoing provision of the Early Career Program at WMQ headspace centres, including workshop and orientation attendance, seminar facilitation, reporting, and other requests by headspace National Provision of expert clinical advice, decision making and assistance on complex casework matters, including providing clinical risk escalation support if Provide oversight to the Clinical Centre Managers in appropriately managing centre referrals and demand for clinical services and leading of the intake function of WMQ headspace centres through allocation, clinical and caseload review processes, ensuring clinical review meetings occur regularly and that clinical documentation is completed appropriately Provide clinical, operational and strategic leadership in the development and implementation of new projects and initiatives within WMQ headspace centres and child and youth mental health more broadly Build, maintain and strengthen effective relationships with key stakeholders involved in the provision of health, mental health, and psychosocial services to children and young people, including professional bodies, local service provider networks, universities, and relevant internal WMQ teams Model and demonstrate constructive working relationships and information exchange, through collaboration with other key MHS leaders and contributing to the strategic direction of WMQ MHS through attendance at and contribution to regular key WMQ leadership meetings and processes What We’re Looking For Approved Tertiary Qualification in Nursing or Allied Health discipline including Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing and Occupational Therapy with demonstrated experience working at a senior leader level within the mental health sector Current full registration (or ability to gain) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) or current full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Advanced level of clinical skills and demonstrated experience in a range of mental health service settings inclusive of Youth Mental Health Demonstrated experience providing leadership to clinical and non-clinical mental health staff Demonstrated ability to provide operational management of mental health services, including meeting contractual obligations and budget management Experience in service development and maintaining continuous quality improvement Demonstrated capacity to effectively engage in leadership and management processes, including multidisciplinary and/or cross sector initiatives, and partnerships with a wide range of professionals, organisations and stakeholders Demonstrated experience and ability to manage all aspects of the team and individual staff members, including recruitment, staff orientation, clinical/practice supervision, performance reviews, staff performance management, performance development and team building Advanced skills in the provision of clinical supervision, including understanding of multidisciplinary supervision requirements, and completion of supervision-specific training and qualifications, or evidence of actively working towards same Highly developed verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a highly productive environment with time pressures whilst managing multiple tasks Advanced computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, electronic recording systems and data management tools Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a productive team member A Valuable A ddition, Yet Not a Must-Have! headspace-specific knowledge and experience of processes, operations, and scope of practice Essential Requirements Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy) Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
