A great opportunity as we get closer to Airport opening next year, this role reports to the Airfield Services Supervisor. You'll be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the serviceability of aprons and taxiways. The position supports the safe and efficient operations of airport stakeholders operating on both the Cargo and Passenger Terminal aprons in accordance with WSI policies and procedures. This position will initially be performed within regular business hours to support the development of processes and procedures. It will then transition to shift work to support WSI’s operational trials and testing prior to the airport commencing live operations when the role will require permanent shift work. Key responsibilities : Conduct daily serviceability inspections of all aprons and taxiways, identify defects, and verify the rectification of any reported issues. Support the Airfield Services Supervisor and Works & Wildlife Coordinator, by inspecting the broader taxiway network and runway as required. Monitor and manage Foreign Object debris (FOD), responding to operational requests from Airservices Australia (AsA), including aircraft engine runs and bay engine starts. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Airport stakeholders, providing support on operational and safety matters. Fulfill the Works Safety Officer (WSO) function when required, supporting emergency works, verifying airside serviceability and liaising the Works & Wildlife Controller. Ensure stakeholder compliance with the Aerodrome Vehicle Control Handbook (AVCH) and Airside Rules, including undertaking enforcement activities when necessary. Provide operational responses during declared Airport emergencies, coordinating actions to maintain airside safety. Respond to safety incidents, gathering critical information for reporting, coordinating response efforts with the Airfield Services Supervisor and Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC), and overseeing the reinstatement of affected facilities. Monitor apron activity during terminal evacuations, to ensure compliance and security. Support the safe movement of passengers and bussing operations in apron areas. Conduct minor defect rectification works (e.g. line marking refresh etc) About You Preferably, you'll have some experience as an Aerodrome Reporting Officer or at least some Airfield experience at a certified airport. Experience coordinating incident response and managing wildlife hazards would also be preferred. Familiarity with management systems and tools used in airfield operations. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing conditions.
