The Emergency Services Agency is seeking applications from motivated, experienced, and suitable individuals to perform the role of Director, Finance Aeromedical Services. This role prepares, manages and forecast the annual budget for the ESA aeromedical operations. The ideal applicant will be comfortable with end-to-end financial management such as accounts payable and receivable, banking processes, fixed asset register maintenance, end of month reconciliations and cash flow management. This role also monitors and reports on contractor compliance (e.g., Toll Helicopters) with agreed contracts and promote a commitment to high quality customer service principles, practices and attributes. Additionally, you will effectively deliver expert advice to the ESA Executive and other business units, while ensuring the Agency complies with Treasury guidelines, statutory financial reporting and other legislative requirements and timeframes. You will be comfortable in preparing strategic and complex submissions, reports and correspondence and maintain records in accordance with the Territory Records Act 2002 . This position also requires you to liaise effectively across other ACTPS directorates and external stakeholders on behalf of Emergency Services Agency. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Relevant experience managing the budgeting and financial operations, within an aeromedical or similarly complex operational environment, is highly desirable. Experience in the use of complex spreadsheets and financial management systems such as Oracle, MYOB, APAIS and TM1 is desirable. Experience in effectively managing financial and compliance processes to ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements, including those set by the Australian Tax Office within an aeromedical or similarly complex operational environment, is highly desirable. To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa. If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) will be terminated. Please note: In the event of a major emergency incident involving the ACT Emergency Services Agency, an Incident Management Team (IMT) is established. The IMT is a group of incident management personnel comprising of an incident controller and other personnel appointed to be responsible for the functions of operations, planning, and logistics. IMT Logistics plays an important role in ensuring all aspects of the incident are covered from supply delivery, ground support and financial management to catering and accommodation. The Finance Branch is comprised of staff who are able to facilitate corporate and logistical support. Notes: This is a temporary position available from 24 November 2025 for a period of six months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months.
