Infrastructure Canberra is seeking a highly motivated and experienced finance professional to join our Strategic Finance team as Assistant Director, Financial Reporting, Asset Management and Capital Works Reporting. About the role This leadership position provides technical financial advice, analysis, planning and reporting on various financial matters, including for assets and capital works. You will play a key role in coordinating the financial aspects of asset management and capital works for the Infrastructure Canberra portfolio and delivering high-quality financial reports and analysis to senior stakeholders. You will also contribute to the development of financial processes and policies, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, legislation, and ACT Government frameworks. The role involves direct supervision of staff and requires strong leadership, collaboration, and mentoring skills. What we’re looking for We are seeking candidates with: Demonstrated experience in asset managements and capital works reporting for public sector. Demonstrated experience in preparing accrual-based financial statements, budgets, and management reports. Strong knowledge of accounting standards, public sector legislation, and financial management practices. Experience with financial reconciliations and reporting tools (including TM1). Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to diverse stakeholders. Leadership capability to guide and mentor a team, while delivering agreed business outcomes. Why join us? Eligibility/Other Requirements: Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or audit are highly desirable, as is membership or progress toward CPA or CA accreditation.
