As our new Design Manager, you’ll be a key part of the Buildings team, helping to shape the way we design and deliver complex and high-impact projects for the Department of Defence, one of Aurecon’s platinum clients. This role is based in Canberra, where you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams in the design management of Defence facilities and infrastructure projects, including the PDS 2.0 program and Capital Facilities and Infrastructure (CFI) portfolios. Your responsibilities will include: Managing and coordinating design delivery across multiple engineering and architectural disciplines. Leading stakeholder engagement with clients, Defence representatives, end users, and external consultants. Driving excellence, compliance, and innovation across Defence projects. While this role focuses on design management, we have a strong preference for candidates with a technical background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, enabling you to also contribute to general engineering processes and input. In addition to experience in design management, the following will be highly regarded: Strong capability in leading coordination of internal design disciplines with external stakeholders including other consultants, architects, end users, and authorities. Demonstrated experience in the Defence sector, particularly in the PDS and CFI portfolios. A technical background in one of the following disciplines (preferred: Electrical or Mechanical): Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Fire Protection Hydraulics Security / ICT Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
