About the role An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join the Box Hill team. This senior role will provide intervention to acute general medical patients on the subacute waitlist, with the aim of promoting earlier discharge home and reducing hospital acquired de-conditioning. This role will involve direct patient care, as well as project evaulation. This position will provide evidence based occupational therapy assessment and interventions, while supporting complex decision making and effective discharge planning, with this varied and rewarding caseload. The successful applicant will take a leadership role within the multidisciplinary and project team and may supervision staff and students. As this role is part of a pilot project there will be opportunities to develop project and change management skills. About you To be successful in this role you should possess: • AHPRA Registration • Demonstrated clinical expertise in aged care/general medicine occupational therapy • Well developed leadership skills • Excellent communication and organisational skills • Ability to be flexible and change work priorities as required in a dynamic service • A strong commitment to high quality, evidence based care • Strong commitment to collaborative interdisciplinary teamwork and patient centered practice Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
