The Senior Officer- Legacy Giving, is a crucial fundraising function within the EverAbility Group fundraising team. This newly created role is responsible for implementing a high value program of donor identification and stewardship to support the legacy giving program for Guide Dogs and VisAbility and in alignment with the broader funding objectives of the organisation. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager- Planned Giving, you’ll play a pivotal role in identifying and engaging mid-level and major donors with the potential for Gift in Will (GIW) giving and lifetime legacy gifts. You’ll work closely with program managers and fundraising colleagues across the organisation to support pipeline development strategies to identify and cultivate donors that share our mission to provide the best possible opportunities for the communities we serve. Key Responsibilities: Support the Senior Program Manager- Planned Giving to ensure effective pipeline management of donors from mid-level and major gift identification to GIW pledgers. Support with the administrative process related to bequests, including documentation, record keeping, reporting and compliance. Work closely with the Senior Program Manager- Planned Giving, to develop pipeline strategies to identify and cultivate potential GIW pledgers from existing database and prospecting of new donors. Working closely with the Senior Program Manager- Planned Giving, identify opportunities for legacy gifts in response to donor motivations and the funding objectives of Guide Dogs and VisAbility WA. Develop and deliver stewardship communications and experiences (e.g., personalised thank-you letters, events, and recognition opportunities) for GIW pledgers and legacy donors. Maintain effective records of all stewardship and activity and assist the Senior Program Manager- Planned Giving in the compilation of data for reporting against income targets and measuring efficacy of activity. Work collaboratively across the Marketing & Fundraising team and with Guide Dogs WA and VisAbility services teams to ensure aligned and consistent messaging. Work in close collaboration with colleagues to share knowledge, develop ideas and complement programs across the organisation. Ensure all GIW related data is up-to-date and appropriately recorded in the database, including setting up new records for Estates and confirmed GIW pledgers and legacy donors and prospects. As directed by Senior Program Manager- Planned Giving prepare regular reports against all pipeline related activity and income. Skills And Experiences Essential Skills and Attributes: High attention to detail, strong commitment to confidentiality, and proficiency in donor database management Proven experience in bequest coordination, major gifts and legacy giving. Well-developed understanding of compliant and effective management of high-level financial gifts in a not-for-profit compliance framework. Demonstrated understanding of prospect identification and pipeline management. Demonstrated experience converting prospects to philanthropic gifts. Positive, collaborative and results driven approach. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a high level of interpersonal engagement. Excellent organisational abilities, time-management, and planning skills. Strong relationship-building and donor stewardship skills. Passion for securing long-term support for Guide Dogs and VisAbility.
