About the Role The Asset Engineer Secondary Systems supports the strategic asset management of Endeavour Energy’s Secondary Systems, with an installed asset base valued at approximately $200 million. T he role focuses on optimising asset performance across the full lifecycle to balance risk, cost, and benefit, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient network operations. Key Accountabilities Support the strategic management of Secondary Systems assets across their full lifecycle. Develop, implement, and review Secondary Systems policies, standards, and asset management plans, including asset class and end-of-life programs. Maintain asset data and analytics systems to support informed decision-making and reporting. Define maintenance strategies, intervals, and performance improvement initiatives. Lead or coordinate incident investigations and implement corrective actions. Prepare business cases and recommendations to support asset investment and renewal decisions. Ensure all asset management practices align with ISO 55001 quality management principles. Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and input into the strategic direction of the Secondary Systems section. Apply advanced risk management and decision analysis to optimise asset performance. Champion continuous improvement and a strong safety culture across all activities. Qualifications and Licences Required: Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or registration in NSW as a Professional Engineer (Electrical). Desired: Postgraduate studies in Engineering, Business, Finance, or Project Management. Licences: Class C Driver Licence (up to 4.5t GVM). WorkCover Construction Induction (White Card). Skills and Experience Experience in a professional engineering role within the Energy, Construction, or Utilities industries. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance technical and commercial considerations. Proven ability to develop and apply asset management strategies and processes. Effective communicator with strong influencing and negotiation skills. Advanced technical understanding of Secondary Systems and related technologies. Financial and commercial awareness, with sound judgement in investment and risk decisions. Proficient in relevant engineering, data, and asset management systems.
