About the Opportunity The Rural Services Officer is responsible for delivering effective rural services to the community, including plant and animal pest control management, the maintenance of stock routes and the control of wandering stock. Key Responsibilities This role encompasses a range of duties and responsibilities which may vary as directed by Council. The key ones include: (1) Maintaining an effective system of Stock Routes throughout the region and arrange maintenance when required; (2) Responding to straying stock and take necessary action; (3) Carrying out inspections for pests and noxious weeds throughout the region About Yourself A person in this position will need to hold (1) Certification to use Fluoroacetic acid (1080) for baiting purposes (2) Licence in Agricultural Chemical Distribution and Control (3) Licence to use Firearms in Queensland (4) Power of Entry Certificate or willingness to obtain a Power of Entry Certificate (5) A current 'C' class Queensland Drivers Licence (Vehicle included in role) The benefits working for WDRC: Work / life balance We understand the importance of balance.
