With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.   An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Personal Care Assistant to join McLellan House Residential Aged Care at the Northern Hospital on a casual employee basis.   About Northern Health:  Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.    About Mental Health Division:  Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.  Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles.  We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of professional treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services.   About McLellan House Residential Aged Care:  McLellan House Residential Aged Care has 32 beds and cares for Aged Persons with Mental Illness and/or Dementia.  Predominately resident with Mental Health challenges are looked after at McLellan House. Mclellan House is Located at Jacana, close to the Broadmeadows Aged Person Mental Health Unit.   About the Role:   The Personal Care Assistant will work as part of the Mclellan House under the supervision of registered psychiatric nurse supporting residents in the facility and their families/carers; to achieve good health outcomes.  Also you will have opportunity to; Work alongside experienced Multidisciplinary team Provide evidence-based care within your scope of practice Deliver high quality nursing care to support our residents Comply with NH mandatory training requirements including NDIS Worker Orientation and induction modules, NDIS Code of Conduct (inclusive of NH Code of Conduct) where role is inclusive of providing service to NDIS Participant Incident reporting and feedback as per NDIS policy and mandatory reporting timeframes (including VHIMS checkbox for NDIS Reportable incidents   We take pride in ensuring those in our care are looked after by the best health care professionals.   About you :  Experience as a Personal Care Assistant in residential aged care settings Experience in providing care for Mental Health consumers in residential settings Positive team player with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills   Next Steps . . .  If this opportunity sounds like the next step in your career, then we would love to hear from you.  Please click on the 'Apply' button and follow the prompts.  For further details, please refer to the Position Description .
