Description Residential Care Support Workers are employed in MASP’s residential care facilities and work directly with vulnerable children and young people. As well as undertaking normal household duties such as cooking and cleaning, the Residential Care Support Workers develop constructive relationships with the clients and are required to work flexible, rostered hours. Availability to work days, nights and weekends is essential. Expected commencing salary of $44.9561 per hour plus statutory superannuation. Skills And Experiences Essential role-specific skills, knowledge and experience Relevant Certificate IV or higher, or enrolment and continuous study in relevant course. Demonstrated experience and skills working with young people with challenging behaviours and social and emotional difficulties. Commitment to working respectfully with individuals, communities and families. Knowledge of the developmental needs of adolescents. Ability to develop constructive relationships with young people. Experience and motivation to work with young people and their families. Ability to work flexible hours. Ability to undertake normal household duties including cooking and cleaning. Good written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of relevant legislative and practice frameworks. Desire/capacity for ongoing professional development. Highly desirable role-specific skills, knowledge and experience Experience in a not for profit / charitable organisation. Diploma or University level qualification.
