We are a not for profit Catholic private hospital which operates across four sites at Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Kew and Werribee. St Vincent's Private Hospital Fitzroy is a centrally located large private hospital facility. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist with a strong clinical background in acute neurology, neurosurgery and orthopaedics to join our physiotherapy team. This role is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the neurosciences (spinal surgery, craniotomy)and orthopaedic physiotherapy team, alongside managing a clinical caseload, based predominantly on the neurosciences ward. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving an evidence based physiotherapy service in collaboration with the senior Allied Health team, with a focus on continual service improvement and provision of excellent care. They will work as part of our experienced multidisciplinary team, to provide and promote a culture of collaborative, patient centred care. Responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to): Provide clinical leadership to the neuroscience/orthopaedic stream of the acute Physiotherapy Team Effective management of a busy and diverse clinical caseload Supervision of junior Physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants and students Take part in, and lead quality improvement and innovation initiatives Demonstrated experience in a leadership position, including working as part of an effective team, supervision and mentoring of junior staff and students Strong clinical background in acute neurology, neurosurgery and orthopaedics– a minimum of 7 years post-graduate experience. A demonstrated commitment to driving quality improvement and excellent patient care Well-developed communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills with the ability to work flexibly within a team and prioritise competing tasks in a timely manner.
