The Experience Centre & Events Manager is a key member of the Community Engagement and Social Impact team, responsible for managing the operations of the WSI Experience Centre and delivering exceptional visitor experiences. Reporting to the General Manager, Community Engagement and Social Impact, this role leads a frontline team, oversees day-to-day operations, drives visitation and ensures the Centre meets its engagement objectives. In addition to operational management, the position is accountable for designing, planning and delivering a range of strategic events to promote WSI. These include safety and careers programs, community-led initiatives and activities supporting media and customer engagement. The role is integral to building strong relationships with the community, stakeholders, media and government. Please note – this is a maximum term position to December 2026, beyond then WSI will be a place of real opportunity. Key responsibilities: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the WSI Experience Centre, ensuring high standards of performance, visitor experience and operational efficiency. Lead and support the use of the Centre for approved stakeholder activities and events. Plan, develop, implement and evaluate innovative programs and activities to meet community and stakeholder needs. Design and deliver high quality community events that prioritise safety and enhance the organisation's reputation. Develop and maintain engaging content for the Experience Centre, aligned with airport progress and key messaging. Manage external suppliers and service providers including audiovisual, maintenance, content and cleaning services. Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements including risk assessments, training and hazard management. Engage positively with members of the public, residents and local businesses to promote visitation and build community support. Collaborate across the organisation to deliver strategic initiatives such as career fairs, media events and customer programs. Support community outreach programs and grassroot initiatives including local sports, school scholarships and activations. Represent Western Sydney Airport in stakeholder and community interactions, fostering strong partnerships and positive sentiment. Lead, motivate and develop a casual workforce to deliver exceptional customer service and operational excellence. Capture and analyse visitor trends, providing insights and recommendations to inform strategic decisions. Be available for major events and after-hours activities as required. Contribute to the delivery and monitoring of objectives in the Corporate Affairs Strategy. Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Tourism Operations or a related discipline. Proven leadership experience in community engagement, events management or customer service within a public venue environment. Strong knowledge and experience in operational management, planning, budgeting and reporting. Demonstrated ability to manage staff and deliver a diverse range of programs and activities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including experience in report writing. Ability to anticipate issues, resolve conflicts pragmatically and maintain composure under pressure. Capacity to work on multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Demonstrate strategic thinking, strong decision making and a commitment to WSI’s values and learning culture. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Aptitude for understanding technical information and construction terminology. Current First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). Valid Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain prior to commencement).
