Position Title: Program Support Team Lead Classification: SCHADS Level 6 Status: Full-Time, Permanent Reports to: Centre Manager Direct Reports: Approximately 12 SITE-BASED Why this Role Matters The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely. About the Role We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Program Support Team Lead to inspire and guide a dedicated team of around 12 Support Workers at our Townsville Residential Rehabilitation service. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll oversee day-to-day operations, manage rosters, and champion person-centred care. You’ll play a key role in building a supportive, motivated team culture—ensuring every client receives the highest quality of care and support on their recovery journey. How you will make an impact: You lead and support your team with care and purpose, guiding Support Workers to deliver truly person-centred, high-quality care. You keep daily operations running smoothly, managing rosters and documentation across systems like SAMIS, SolvSafety, and Kronos, while ensuring every process supports the people you serve. Safety, wellbeing, and continuous improvement are always at the heart of what you do. You foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and compassion, working closely with the Centre Manager to create a service that not only meets needs but genuinely enhances lives. What you will bring: Degree in Social Work, Community Services or related field (or equivalent experience) Proven experience in staff leadership and supervision in AOD, health or community services Strong understanding of risk, clinical governance, and trauma-informed practice Blue Card (Working with Children Check), First Aid & CPR certification, and driver’s licence What we offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including: Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
