We are seeking a motivated Trades Assistant to join our workshop team in Cowra. This role is hands-on and provides the opportunity to support qualified tradespeople across multiple areas of our operations. Perfect for someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. PLEASE NOTE; Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete an automated one way interview as part of the screening process. The Offer: $35ph 1.5 penalty rate for overtime. 6am to 4pm. Full time. The Responsibilities: Assist tradespeople in fabricating and fitting vehicle components and accessories. Prepare parts and materials for jobs (cutting, grinding, measuring, etc.). Operate workshop tools and equipment under supervision. Carry out general labour tasks including cleaning, moving parts, and yard/site maintenance. Support paint preparation and sandblasting (masking, degreasing, handling parts). Maintain a clean and safe work environment in line with K-Drive’s housekeeping standards. Follow work instructions and safety protocols, including PPE usage. Assist with unloading, storing, and organising materials. Participate in toolbox talks, training, and job briefings. The Candidate: Essential : Construction White Card. Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain). Manual or Truck driver’s licence (desirable). Experience in a workshop, manufacturing, or mechanical environment (preferred). Basic knowledge of hand and power tools (grinders, drills, ratchets, etc.). Ability to read job sheets or follow verbal instructions. Strong focus on safety and manual handling practices. Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude. Willingness to learn, take direction, and support tradespeople. Teamwork and communication skills.
