The key duties of the position include We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB). As a Lawyer in our TPB Legal Unit, you will play a key role in delivering legal services across a range of complex matters. You will lead litigation proceedings, including advocacy before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, and be responsible for preparing legal documents and briefing external legal providers, such as counsel. You will provide sound legal advice to internal business areas, manage requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 , and contribute to general legal and administrative tasks. You will work collaboratively to deliver business outcomes, including leading or contributing to the review of complex litigation matters. You'll support senior lawyers in reviewing submissions for presentation to the Board Conduct Committee. Additionally, you'll contribute to policy development and implementation of business improvement initiatives to enhance legal service delivery. This role offers an exciting opportunity for qualified lawyers to work with a team of high skilled legal professionals, managing litigation matters and advising on disciplinary investigations and registration matters for the TPB. These roles may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Brisbane CBD, Melbourne CBD, Parramatta or Sydney CBD.
